Asyntai AI Chat [Support Thread]

Support thread for the Asyntai AI Chat plugin, which was accepted into the Plugin Library recently: Asyntai AI Chat in the Plugin Library

Most of us answer the same handful of questions over and over. Which size is this, do you ship to my country, how long does delivery take, what is your returns policy. They arrive at eleven at night and on Sundays, and a shopper who does not get an answer usually leaves.

This plugin puts an AI chat widget on the storefront that answers those questions from your own content, in the visitor's own language. When it cannot answer, it takes the question and an email address so you can follow up instead of losing the sale.

How it sits in your store

• It adds one script tag to the page head through the NOTIFY_HTML_HEAD_END notifier. No core file and no template file is touched
• It installs and uninstalls from Modules > Plugin Manager
• Four settings under Configuration > Asyntai AI Chat: enable, Widget ID, script URL, and the pages to skip. The checkout pages are skipped by default
• Uninstall removes the settings, the configuration group and the admin menu entry, and leaves your store data alone

Install

1. Download the ZIP from the plugin page and unzip it
2. Upload the zc_plugins folder into your store root, next to index.php
3. Modules > Plugin Manager, click Asyntai AI Chat, click Install
4. Configuration > Asyntai AI Chat, paste your Widget ID, set Enable to True, save

Compatibility

Zen Cart 1.5.8 through 2.2.2, PHP 7.3 and up. Install and uninstall are tested on real 1.5.8a, 2.1.0 and 2.2.2 stores.

The plugin is free and GPL v2. You need an Asyntai account for the Widget ID, and the free plan is enough to run it. The step by step install guide for Zen Cart covers the settings one by one, and has a section on what to check if the widget does not show up.
