Re: Possible Bug

Are you suggesting that the messages (and configuration-setting descriptions) be updated to fully spell out that email@domain is [email protected]

Noting that your "Word word" example was missing the required brackets surrounding the email address.

Re: Possible Bug

i have confirmed this bug.

by the time, we get to here:

https://github.com/zencart/zencart/blob/5f150dca7b1ca539234419ad8aec3a72e64b9797/admin/includes/classes/configurationValidation.php#L33

the < and the > have been encoded to < and >

converting them back prior to that line validates the entry correctly.

they are then stored in the database using the < and > but displayed on the configuration screen using the htmlentities.

Corrected in the 2.3 branch on GitHub: https://github.com/zencart/zencart/commit/5b29fdf8c1a2abe50926cc39b2fa8d8ce8163e8b

in my testing using the master branch with the latest commits, this bug still exists.

in my FURTHER testing on the 2.3 branch, this bug also still exists.

i will say that on the master branch, there are 2 error messages that get added to the messageStack; on branch 2.3, there is only 1 error message that gets added to the stack.

i have not dug deeper, as to their differences.

specifically because (thread drift), i'm a little aghast at the number of branches that exist on this repo. the management of which, to me, looks like an incredible amount of work. 16 active branches?

but this bug (or a slight variation) still exists on both branches. and i would think if the bug was corrected in 2.3, it should also be corrected in the master branch. but here, we have the master branch throwing 2 messages, while 2.3 only has 1.

best.

Re: Possible Bug

For both the 2.3 and master branches, I've changed Send Low Stock Emails To to Cindy <[email protected]>; that's how it displays on the screen and also how it's stored in the configuration table (no < >).

@carlwhat what messages are getting added to the messageStack?

Re: Possible Bug

hmm.... this seems like my mistake. the 2.3 and master branch both seem fine. apologies about that... i have far too many dev domains on my dev server.

i was getting that 2nd error due to an issue with a configuration value database setting. that also seems to have been a problem on my end.

best.
