Re: html unicode included in order email for group discount

Might be barking in wrong section..

Upgraded from 1.5.4 to 2.2.2 (clean install, upgraded database). Ran language convertor through database to get to UTF8MB4. Mentioning this as I suspect it's related.

Emails with orders that have a group discount now have some garbage characters (html/unicode I believe) as shown below:

Group Discount: ‑$13.75

Should be:

Group Discount: -$13.75

I have created a new group discount and tested with it, the same results happen. The correct amount is being subtracted from the total and the order page in admin looks correct. The defect is in the email being sent (or the way it is being received).

More checking to do, but I believe we have the email set to be plain text.

Pointers and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks, added that proposed code to our PHP file and seems to be working OK, correcting our issue.
