New Website Updates

Forum search

Forum search has been rebuilt:

  • Filters. You can narrow results by forum, with a scope pill and a forum finder.
  • My posts only. Limit a search to threads you've posted in.
  • Better ordering. Posts within matching threads appear in thread order, and "posted in" results rank by recent thread activity.
  • More dependable. Search keeps working if the search engine is briefly unavailable.

Plugin search now runs on the same engine, so both behave consistently.

Plugins

  • Plugin ID checks. The plugin ID inside a release's manifest.php is what Zen Cart stores use to check for updates. We have tools to find releases stamped with the wrong ID and repair them. New plugins are also assigned an unused public ID if their number would clash with an older plugin's.
  • Review warnings. Staff are warned before a new release replaces releases still awaiting review.
  • Download ZIP. The release edit page now has a Download ZIP button, and the status dropdown no longer shows blank.
  • Submissions pause. We can now pause plugin and release uploads, with a banner explaining it.

Forum and posting

  • Signatures. Updating your signature now updates it on all your past posts, as it did on the old forum.
  • Bug reports. Everyone following a thread now gets an email when a staff member reports it as a bug or changes the bug's status, assignee or resolution note. Reporters follow their own reports automatically.
  • @mentions. Mentions now link to the member's page.
  • Today's Posts. It now covers the last 24 hours instead of resetting at server midnight.
  • Reported posts. The "post has been reported" notice is shown only to staff and the reporter.
  • Post likes. Likes are switched off for now.

Accounts and messages

  • Login and registration. They now use native popups instead of an embedded frame.
  • Private messages. Conversations stay in your folders, move out of the trash when someone replies, and sort by latest message. BCC has been removed.
  • Privacy requests. Your request history shows staff replies and has a download link for exports.
  • Login redirect. Logging in no longer drops you at the wrong page when you followed a direct link to the dashboard.

Site and design

  • Header. The bell and avatar menus open on click rather than hover. The icons are consistent, and on mobile the menu button sits on the right. Private message rows no longer overflow small screens.
  • Pages. Staff can now draft, preview and publish pages with markdown editing.
  • Donate. The donate page header is tighter.
  • Other fixes. Fixed the code styling and rich-text toggle on the new thread form, and a server error on malformed page addresses.
