New Website Updates
Subscriptions and notifications
* Subscribing is now your choice. Replying to a thread no longer subscribes you automatically. There's a Subscribe to this thread box on the reply form, unticked by default (and hidden if you're already subscribed). Starting a thread still subscribes you, so you hear the answers. The box on the new thread form starts ticked, and you can untick it before posting.
-
Want replies to subscribe you? Under Account Settings → Settings, use Subscribe When I Reply to set the starting state of that box.
-
Clear out old subscriptions in bulk. On Account Settings → Subscriptions you can tick several threads and press Unsubscribe selected, or use Unsubscribe from all threads.
-
A tidier notification bell. It lists your latest five notifications, with View all notifications at the top of the dropdown. A new Clear all button empties your list (it asks you to confirm first).
Your account
-
My Profile. The menu under your avatar now has My Profile, which opens your own member page with your posts, threads and plugins. The old "Profile" item is now called Account Settings.
-
Faster profiles. We fixed an occasional timeout when opening the profile of a very active member.
Site and design
* Header. The main menu now opens when you hover over it. The bell and avatar menus still open on click, and every header menu closes when you click or tap outside it.
* Phones. The header shows a taller, stacked Zen Cart logo with a readable tagline.
* Typing is faster. Writing long replies in the rich text editor no longer lags.
* Donate page. The PayPal amount buttons were rebuilt as regular buttons, so they follow whatever amounts we set.
For search engines
* Thread and plugin pages now describe themselves better in search results (page descriptions, preferred addresses and structured data), and the sitemap carries real update dates.
For staff
* Navigation menus in the dashboard now have drafts, preview, publish, scheduling and version history, like pages do. You can preview a draft menu together with the draft pages it links to, and dropdowns can now hold grouped links.
