Wordpress On ZC [Support Thread]

I have a Zen-Cart store working fine. I have wanted to add a blog. I am not familiar with Wordpress, although I do now have it installed on a test site. I would like my blog to be "under" my store - in other words I want ZC to be the boss and the blog on WP to be the servant of ZC. I want there to be consistent styling between ZC and WP.

Will this mod do this for me and do I need to be up to speed with WP before I start the integration process?

I have the newest versions of zencart and wordpress. I have wordpress installed in /public_html/wordpress/ and zencart is installed in /public_html/shop/

Wordpress is looking for that file, and cannot find it.
Secondly...have never yet got this mod to work, unless wordpress
is installed in same directory as zencart..i.e. in this case, would be
your directory /public_html/shop/

ok, I guess I'll have to reinstall it there. Is it best to put all the files directly into the shop/ folder or should I make a Wordpress folder in the shop folder?

Am I going to have any problems with the tables it creates when installing? Will the new one just overwrite them or something?

How do i uninstall wordpress for zen-cart?
I didnt quite get the instructions in the readme..
Do I just delete all wp files in my directories, and delete
the wp entry in the database?

I unistalled my WP that was outside of the shop directory and now have reisntalled it into the same directory as zen cart and it still isn't working.

Is the file above, wp-config.php, in your zencart folder /shop/

No, it has it's own database. Were they supposed to be in the same one?

ok, I put them in the same database this time and I'm still getting that same error. I have another problem now, when I was in the wordpress admin, I changed the url to the zencart one and now when I login to my admin, I get an error page :cry:

I've just decided to delete wordpress. I'm afraid of messing up my store with it.

I'm having a problem getting my sideboxes to display correctly. Part of the rounded boarder is there, with a few line breaks, but the background color won't display like my other sideboxes. I tried using the code from the post below but it didn't work.

I've this entire thread (about 20 times) and wasn't able to find the answer. If it's already been answered my apologies.

I had the same problem and I resolved it by editing the /includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_wp_cats.php file:

I just had to change the "centeredContent" to match the correct class in my style sheet.

Two days of trying different code and it was just that simple. I think I will take a nap now.

Hi everyone, as soon as i change my config to include the path to my wordpress folder, i get an interesting error on every page of site:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 5 bytes) in /home/sites/mysite.com/public_html/includes/languages/MYTEMPLATE/english.php on line **537

**Line 537 relates to: define('CART_OT_SHOW','true'); // set to false if you don't want order totals

if i leave as supplied i.e

('ABSPATH','/var/www/vhost/example.com/public_html/blog/');

then the site works fine, but obviously displays the message on the wordpress page:

file not found /var/www/vhost/example.com/public_html/blog/wp-config.php

Forgot to say, using zen 1.3.7 , wordpress 2.3.3 and the WOZ 1.3

just found this in the history text file of the WOZ:

Im using the latest version of SEO URLs the latest version of WOZ and ver 1.3.8a of ZC also using the rss feed contribution.

I am trying to change the permalink setting in WOZ to custom. It let's me change it and it shows up in the address bar like it should but it wont display the blog post now. The address changes in the bar but you continue viewing the same page you were just on.

I am also having trouble with my RSS now. Since the SEO URLs were installed my RSS shows up as blank white pages. No errors, just blank pages.

Is this all related? Can you help?
