Wordpress On ZC [Support Thread]

I'm a newbie & have some quick questions. I have the newest Zen Cart installed in my root & am looking for compatible community software to use to build a "Guild" for 3D Artists.

Will WOZ work with WordPress MU?

Can I prevent the WordPress section for showing on the shop's main page? I really only want products in the "Store" area, which is the home page, but I like the fact that I can integrate users so they automatically get community access.

I'm really loving Zen Cart as I've had none of the issues I've had with other shopping cart software.

LynnIf you don't want ANY of the blog content or links in your store, then you don't need this mod at all.. this mod is not a c"community builder" the WP and ZC users are not synchronized at all.. All this mod does is allow you to display WP content within Zen Cart.

I use hostmonster's webhosting and i use the control panel to install Wordpress, and the system automatically setup another database that is different from the one i use. I am not sure whether this affect the result , i still have the error : can not find the wp-config.php, i installed it under /blog and ABS is set up to "http://mysite.com/blog/" is this correct? i use v2.7 WP and 1.3.8a zencart

Can any one help me with this?Did you follow ALL the steps for installing this add-on?? Did you verify that WordPress is installed correctly?? (your post would indicate that the answer to this is no..)

If your issue is with the WordPress install you need to correct that issue first.. (and you may need to go to the WordPress forum or your host to get that all worked out..) Then follow the directions for installing this add-on and see how that works out....

(it also helps to post links..)

You need to review the section that tells you how to correctly set your absolute path as well as the last part of the instructions that tell you how to validate your install is correct.

Also if you go back to page 65 and read hedgehog's post, he has a nice tutorial on how to configure this mod that might be easier to understand than the instructions that come with this add-on..

Looks like you are almost there.. (http://bagreplica4u.com/index.php?main_page=wordpress) Make sure that you don't forget the trailing slash ("/") in your absolute path..

Is anybody using COWOA Check out without an account successfully in conjunction with this mod?
I had WOZ running fine on a site, but after installing COWOA the Shopping cart status in the header and sidebar is gone after clicking on a blog link.

I'm also getting the 'headers already sent' error message when clicking on the wp_sidebar header link

You should read through this post. The fix for this error has already been posted.. (around pages 56-58 I think..)

Yes, I did read that I'm using WordPress 2.3.3 with ZenCart 1.3.7 so that fix does not apply

I bet someones gonna suggest I upgrade...

But - my question is: anyone using the two mods together successfully.

I could have sworn - but can't seem to find anymore - where it was that I read that you could post articles in the administration section of my ZC install. That way it would eliminate the need for logging into two separate administration areas on the website to add the same information that you want on the whole of the website?

If I am wrong would someone who is more knowledgeable give me a response that clears up my confusion as to where I thought I had seen this?

I've been reading forums for hours and searched multiple ideas that I thought would relate and haven't found anything yet! I'm a bit frustrated at either my memory or the lack of me finding what it was I swore was there so any help would be AMAZING! :)

SethShort answer is that the mod was never meant to work as you describe. All this mod does is embed WordPress content into ZenCart. You still need to manage WordPress through the WordPress admin..

Well, that's no fun :huh:

Oh well, I was just going to get it into one admin so I wouldn't have to worry about going into two - initially would have been harder, but in the long run it would have been very convenient. I guess I will just have to deal with it :smile:

Nope that's not the problem either.. :no: Even if I delete all the posts and have only one admin re-enter them all.. (Which is what I did to test this) The very next day the same admin added one additional post, and it would not show up in WOZ, but was visible if I viewed WordPress standalone. Once I changed the posting date of the new post to match the posting date of the other posts, then WOZ displayed the new post just fine.. Whatever this issue is, it has everything to do with the posting date and WOZ. Running WordPress standalone displays no such issue..:blink: Very odd..

I think the problem is within the sidebox code. I inserted the code posted earlier in this thread:

directly into the tpl_index_default.php page and the problem with the 2nd post not being found does not happen and links and work correctly.

Has anyone got some ideas about a woz sitemap plugin with integration into the google zencart XML sitemap addon?

I went to wordpress and there are a number of sitemap plugins and I would like too know if anyone has some first hand experince with any and if they will work with the googole XML sitemap for zencart.

Plus it would be nice to have the wordpress pages and posts on the zencart core sitemap too!
