Malformed image URL in Yahoo email

Howdy!

I'm finding that the welcome email header image URL is malformed in Yahoo mail. This is what shows in the delivered email source:

<img src="http://www.coreknowledge.org/bookstore/"/email/logo.gif"
alt="Core Knowledge Bookstore" width="348" height="71" />

The first part refers to $BASE_HREF, and is correct.

The image itself is linked thus:

<img src="email/logo.gif" alt="Core Knowledge Bookstore" width="348"
height="71" />

The mail looks fine in my Outlook mail client.

What is the story with web mail? Is there a fix?

Re: Malformed image URL in Yahoo email

You could remove the "base href" tag from your email templates, and then hard-code the full path to your images.

There are zillions of non-standardized approaches to displaying HTML-formatted emails, so finding "one" approach that works with "everything" is almost impossible. A lot of trial and error is required. ... and the more advanced (and more flexible) newer standards for HTML coding are very unpredictable with email clients. It's best to code at a CSS v1 and HTML v1 standard if designing for email.
