Google SitemapAdmin

Well I know that... that was what I meant... I just want the content from my 'Services' sidebox induded in the generated xml files.

Eg.

I only get sitemapproducts.xml, sitemapcategories.xml, sitemapezpages.xml.

However, I want it to generate sitemapservices.xml.

I think some of my sites define pages I have linked to in my sidebox have been indexed by google now so i imagine google found them by crawling as oppsed to my sitemap. But i still think it would be useful to be able to generate sitemapnameofsidebox.xml pages.

Anyone else with me?

Re: Google SitemapAdmin

I really like this mod, but have an odd need. Some background....
We have resellers that sell our products, and they can't have the badges that they order, get indexed and then their customer order from us instead of them. We also sell direct to customers, so our shop right now has mostly just customers. We want to add the resellers on-line, and have been using the hideCategories mod. It works well, and with no links those pages should be pretty secret, since most of the resellers customers don't know that they could get their badges from us, and probably aren't looking super hard. I understand it isn't perfect, but it seems like a workable solution for everyone. Where it falls apart is that this mod shows all categories even those that are hidden. I would really like some direction on finding where the SQL is or some hints on where to look to accomplish getting these not put in our sitemaps, both the categories and products that are hidden.

Thanks for your help, Matt

Re: Google SitemapAdmin

I am getting the following error when my sitemaps generate.

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: http://www.uniqueseason.com/sitemapezpages.xml
Line Number 23, Column 100:

This is in my sitemapezpages.xml. The other three sitemaps work just fine.

Any ideas as to why this might happen?

Hi Matt,

using the hideCategories mod.
E-mail me. SitemapXML v2 theoretically supported hideCategories, but we need to test.

Yes, this is a bug in the module.

Re: Google SitemapAdmin

I am also struggling to install this one.

I have 1.38a installed as new with one or two mods now installed - everything working fine to date.

Uploaded all files, instructions were a little garbled in txt file, but think I have it correct.

Copy and pasted INSTALL.SQL and 8 statements processed - now see Google XML Sitemap under Configuration menu but nothing under Tools.

Tried to copy and paste the 3x UPGRADE.SQL files but all report errors similar to those mentioned by Agent_KGB.

Tried the SQL content show above and reported 20 statements processed. Still nothing under Tools.

The Googlesitemap.php file is stored directly under Admin.

What am I doing wrong, do I need to do anything to the settings of the Google XML Sitemap bit under Admin (not touched them since install).

Any advice would be welcome.

Re: Google SitemapAdmin

Hi, have installed everything but when I try to add the mysql as instructed via copy and paste (not file upload) I just get logged out of my admin. File upload works I have been using it fine, paste doesn't.

I tried to run it instead via phpmyadmin and got:

#1146 - Table 'user_dbname.configuration_group' doesn't exist

Can you advise please?

Thanks

Re: Google SitemapAdmin

For those of you who don't like getting the Google warning,

"All the URLs in your Sitemap have the same priority.":

I have made a little hack that will alter the priority of the first 2 urls in each sitemap. It arbitrarily reduces the priority of the first 2 urls by .1. If your priority is set for .7, then the first 2 urls will have a priority of .6 and the rest will be .7. This will satisfy the google bot and eliminate the warning message.

It is also possible to open up your sitemap files and manually alter a couple of urls. This will also work. But I have mine set up to run daily as an automated task, so do not have this option. So I created a couple of lines of code to handle this for me.

In googlesitemap.php, the following is all original code, except for the part between "// begin kehrli mod:" and "// end kehrli mod". Just find that part of the code and insert the 3 new lines.

      $number++;
      $contentXML .= ' <url>' . "\n";
      $contentXML .= '  <loc>' . utf8_encode($url['loc']) . '</loc>' . "\n";
      if(isset($url['lastmod']) && $url['lastmod'] != '')
        $contentXML .= '  <lastmod>' . $this->LastMod($url['lastmod']) . '</lastmod>' . "\n";
      if(isset($url['changefreq']) && $url['changefreq'] != '')
        $contentXML .= '  <changefreq>' . $url['changefreq'] . '</changefreq>' . "\n";
      if(isset($url['priority']) && $url['priority'] != '')
// begin kehrli mod:
        if($number < 3)
          $contentXML .= '  <priority>' . ($url['priority'] - .1) . '</priority>' . "\n";
        else
// end kehrli mod
          $contentXML .= '  <priority>' . $url['priority'] . '</priority>' . "\n";
      $contentXML .= ' </url>' . "\n";

For the dynamic content, that is normal, try a mod like Simple SEO URLs, look for support thread and download from author's site.
For the other issue, I believe solution is posted a couple posts above.

Yes, this is an error. There is no need to use the old module - use the latest version SitemapXML v.2. You can email me to get last version.
