CGI-BIN folder needs to be created

I talked to my host provider about an issue I was having when I was in Tools then serevr status and was given the following email

You will want to refer to the zencart.com.com web site. This has all the information that will assist you in this. The basic issue is that you don't have a CGI-BIN folder. If you read the documentation you will see this is needed to make the application function. Once you have added the folder it will need permissions set up in the control center under Site \ File permissions as this is for the ability for the folder to be written to and modified. There are many Zen Cart users that have been successful in getting this set up using the documentation listed on Zencart.com Thank you and have a great day.

Can anyone help me as I a new to this and see this as bieng something that is needed.

Thanks

Re: CGI-BIN folder needs to be created

The only reason why Zen Cart would have "anything" to do with a cgi-bin folder is if your PHP configuration is running as a CGI app, and not a PHP module. THat is a server-configuration issue that only your host can alter, if at all.

But the real issue is ... why are they telling you that you need it? More specifically, what exact "problem" are you trying to resolve? (ie: what's not working in Zen Cart due to the "missing cgi-bin"?)

Re: CGI-BIN folder needs to be created

The issue that I am having is when I click on the server infomation under tools it returns to me the following error

"CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers."

When I asked my provider about this they have said that I need to create the files, so hence I ask what do i need to crate.

Re: CGI-BIN folder needs to be created

I assume there are no other problems on your site, and that the only challenge is related to the Server-Info page?
