Talk about newbie questions!!!!

here's the mother of them all. Just had zencart installed and am trying to get my store up and running and it says:
/languages/english/html_includes/classic/

ummm....where do I find that?
Told you it was a newbie q.

Re: Talk about newbie questions!!!!

The full pathname is <name of the root directory for your store>/includes/languages/english/html_includes/classic/

But it must be saying something about it ...

Re: Talk about newbie questions!!!!

I don't mean to be purposefully dense but this is still completely Greek to me.

I feel like I can do anything oncxe I get there but I am still here. I've tried finding online zc tutoruials but they gave the same info...exactly HOW do I find that?

Off to bang my head off the hardest surface I can find.

Re: Talk about newbie questions!!!!

Can you post a link to the page where it says > /languages/english/html_includes/classic/ so that we can see the context?

Oh...and thank you. I hope I don't come across as cranky...just tired and frustrated.

Re: Talk about newbie questions!!!!

OK. Nothing to worry about here. The wording above the line you asked about is telling you how to edit main block of text on this page. This line is just telling you where in the system it is located.

Zen Cart has quite complex and deep directory/folder structures. So if the directory in which you have placed your shop as being called mystore, then this file would be located located several levels down in
mystore > includes > languages > english > html_includes > classic > define_page_3.php

However, you can ignore this and edit the text directly from the Admin system. I think that yiu may have already done this on your homepage. But in case not ...

Enter https://www.thefancifulfanny.com/admin into your browser (or click on the link) and then log in.
Choose Define Pages Editor from towards the boittom of the Tools menu.
Then choose define_page_3.php as the file to edit from the drop down menu.

One side comment though. You are using the classic template. I strongly recommend against this for new sites, and especially for new users. Here is an explanation of why and a link to a step-by-step guide to a better approach.

No problem. There is a slightly embarassing thread from just over a month ago where I was in a position very similar to you, trying to get my head round this new Zen Cart thingy (and failing dismally).

Thank you! Sometimes all I need is some laymans terms and empathy...don't we all? I'm really NOT a moron and with my library degree am good at finding information but that certainly doesn't mean I KNOW everything.
