Site Map showing links that are turned off

How do I get the site map in 1.3 to not show some of the links I have turned off? I commented them out in the english.php file, and that took them out of the sidebox, but they are still showing up in the site map.

I was able to turn of page_2, page_3 and page_4 in the define page status settings, but the same setting (3) does not do the same for shipping and returns or conditions of use.

You could use the overrides and duplicate the code in the sideboxes that controls if via the configuration settings or just use the overrides and comment out what you do not want to have in there ...
