Oh, i alread did that -- i found the shipping files from the zip and reinstalled them. but still no luck. i downloaded all the shipping modules again, and they still wont show up on the admin page.

I know you have reuploaded your modules- have you tried reuploading the Admin files?

for the most part...yeah. at least the stuff that i knew what it did. i dont want to overwrite any of the work i've done though. i have someone else who does the back end stuff and the high level programming...and he'd kill me if i overwrote somethign he already did.

I have reloaded the admin folder, and the shipping modules are now back to normal.
