I have been working on the ULTIMATE UK SHIPPING figures.

Using SMALL PACKET rates for the three UK ROYAL MAIL ZONES, this has all the latest figures and should go hand in hand with the UK Royal Mail Rates Contribution and should save you AGES in working this out manually

I thought i would share my attempt and leave it open for amendments and alterations

Here goes:

ECOMMERCE SHIPPING SOLUTION

Using UK Postal Rates Contribution, postal services split into three options

1. UK
2. EUROPE
3. and BOTH world zones
   (FOR SMALL PACKET RATE WORLD ZONES 1 and 2 are classed as same by Royal Mail)

WEIGHT ISSUES
1000 grams = 1kg - hence the following:
10grams = 44p postage

1000grammes, being 1kg is then shown as 1.000 in the listing below:

Wow, thank you David! I had just downloaded the Royal mail module, and was not relishing the idea of listing all the countries for each zone....Europe and Zone 2 were ok...but finding and putting down all the codes for the rest of the world was not appealling to me...:unsure:
As you have kindly posted this I am very grateful and will be using your zones. I think I will just go ahead and configure my prices to the cost of the new packet rate, as most of my items/combined items will fall into that catagory and I can always refund a portion of the P&P if any particular sale works out with the P&P too high.
Does anyone happen to know what happens if someone from a country not listed in Zencart wants to buy something? Unlikely maybe, but does it refer to admin before giving a P&P price, or just put a random one?

If there is no zone configured to match the zone in which their address is located, then they will not be offered a shipping option, and will be unable to checkout.

I found a couple of mistakes in the original weight to price ratios above...they should have been as follows

Euro prices :-
0.320:2.29, 0.340:2.39, 0.360:2.49

Zone 1 & 2 :-
1.880:18.44

Also you included GB in the european countries.

Only a couple of errors...not bad considering the amount of typing involved...:wink2:

I have input all the data into both my Royalmail module, and zone shipping, but for some reason it will only calculate shipping for the UK. Any idea why this would be??

Not to worry, I have sorted it. If anyone else has the same problem after using the advice and figures in this thread, it might be for the same reason I had one.
I copied and pasted the country codes into the royal mail module. But unfortuately most of them had a space after the comma...and it seems that was what was confusing the system.
All is well now, and all countries seem to be estimating fine...:yes:
