Auto-switching DB login to end 1226 Error

Hi!

Dr. Byte stated in another thread that there was a way to make your zen-cart roll over from one DB username to another to avoid the dreaded 1226 exceeded DB access limit. (see: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23533&highlight=1226+Error)

Can anyone tell me exactly how this is accomplished (by what code, where I need to put it, etc)

Thanks for your help in advance!

Re: Auto-switching DB login to end 1226 Error

polite bump

Just talked to Ipower... sadly they won't up the amount of requests my db can handle so this seems to be my only option, other than changing services and god what a hassle that will be and costly to boot! Please, tell me someone out there has an answer to this problem.

Don't know who your host is(opps you did state who they were) but it would seem that they are not very ZenCart friendly.

Check the tab at the top for ZenCart Certified hosting... what you might think will be costly and a real hassel might turn out to be a 'god send'.

Many of the hosts will transfer your Zen site 'free of charge' so that you end up on a certified host with little intervention from you and this is normally a rapid transfer.

An added benefit is that these hosts are fully ZenCart savy and will assist with some of the problems, albeit you should attack it first as they cannot do it all for you for free. But it can be reassuring that any ZenCart requirements will be supported by them like in this case the # of DB requests.

Or you can continue to attempt to work around these problems...it is your site and choice.

Re: Auto-switching DB login to end 1226 Error

I'm sorry I thought I had said it... oops Ipower.com is my host. Thanks for the advice. Trust me if I were the final say in whether we moved our site or not, I might just do that... sadly my boss gets to make that call and I'm not sure he will. shrugs we'll see. For now, I need to find out if there is any way to make this work without the moving.

Thanks for the advice just the same. :)

Does anyone know a way to make this work besides moving to a new host?

The following may be what you want.

Rotating Db Users

But as kobra said, the best is still a ZenCart Certified hosting. It keep you away from the problems which always find in other hosts for keep lowering their costs.
