Admin Profiles (for v1.3.x only!) Support Thread

I have installed Admin Profiles but when I add a new admin and give it some admin features it wont save
Any ideas please

I puzzled over this for ages - then noticed an error message that appeared at the top of the page when I tried to save the new profile. Passwords have to longer than 5 characters, or it doesn't make a new account.

Or maybe it's only me that doesn't notice error messages....:blush:

Oh - & I have problem of my own.

I have tried Admin Profiles out, on a brand-new 'test' installation. No add-ons, no modifications, no nothing.

Admin Profiles is brilliant - I have created a secondary account that has only the options that the user needs.

However, when I try to access 'Attributes Controller' in this new account a get the following message:
"Sorry, your security clearance does not allow you to access this resource.Please contact your site administrator if you believe this to be incorrect. Sorry for any inconvenience".

I really need this option to be available - any suggestions, please?

I am having the same problem but with it is not a fresh install. I had to do a new admin and everything is there still and looks ok but it does not save. I can make the new user but when I try to save permissions for them it does not save. I get booted back to the main admin home screen with no error messages. Further looking at it I am unable to save any changes to any of the existing admins either. The only change that has been made to my store is installing the security patch. [my version is zen 1.3.8a]

Ok sorry found my own answer - there is a patch for admin profiles for after the zen security patch - to save you searching it is here. I just installed works perfectly it seems although it wiped the permissions I had so i am going in and redoing them but all saving perfectly. thank you. before you install make sure oyu can login as the main no 1 admin as you have to do that to change the pther profiles.

Okay that all works now I have reupdated my permsiions. Only hiccup is the options for permissions changed and I lots a few from installed addons. Main one is the Image handler 2 which is no longer listed in the options even for the main admin. Pain really lol as it is wayharder to install then the patch. If anyone has an easy solution other than reinstalling please I would love you to point me in the right direction.:smile:

yay fixed that problem too it was purely a stupid issue with the name of a file so the admin mod wasn't picking it up. All is good and thank you all who work so hard on these contributions.

After adding this addon, I have an error with my font in admin area.
I have english and vietnamese in my shop. This error happens only to the admin area, when I view shop in english then all vietnamese characters are broken. It's OK when I change the admin language back to vietnamese. It did not happen before.

Please see the attachment, it looks like a error in DB with utf-8 encoding but everything with DB is OK. Please advice !

Nevermind...ignore my previous message for now. Somehow when I downloaded ZenCart today I got version 1.27bugsecurityfix. I am not sure why the site was linking to an old version, but I'm going to try upgrading to 1.3.0.1 and see if that fixes my problem.

I still would like to know where I am supposed to issue the "Import install_admin_profiles.sql" command though.

well thats under admin in shop then go to tools then install sqlm patches.

Did you enable it for the second account? Admin Profiles follows the most fundamental of security protocols, i.e. it won't let a new user access anything until it has been told that it's OK to do so.

Thanks.Admin Profiles goes nowhere near that part of the Admin. I can think of no way in which it could contribute to this problem.

The installation SQL is best installed via Admin > Tools > Install SQL Patches

Yes, I did - Attributes Controller appeared in the Catalog menu of my new acount, but clicking on that option did not take me to the page but to the message: "Sorry, your security clearance does not allow you to access this rescource &c."

However, when I went back & added the related menu entries (option name manager & option value sorter) this no longer happened.

All fixed!

I suspect that there are some menu entires that are so closely related to each other, functionally, that any one will not work unless the others are present.

Attributes Controller, Option Name Manager & Option Value Sorter seem to be one such group - if I want the first to work, I have to have the other two.

Another similar group is the category and product page, and don't get even get me started on Super Orders ....

What version of Zen Cart? What Version of Admin Profiles? Do you have the security patches installed? What, precisely can't you save and on what page?
