Chaning the Buttons

Is it possible to change the default button images, for example I want to add my own image on the 'Add to Cart' button, and I also want to remove the lines from the box surrounding the add to cart button

Have managed to change the buttons, but cant figure out how to get rid of the outline, can anyone help please
