Where is located the code to...

... manage the upload of files to be downloaded?
I'm speaking of virtual products, so attributes.
I've found that in admin, mainly is the file attributes_controller.php that manage this stuff, but I can't find the code that makes the upload.

You manually ftp the files into the downloads folder
