Users Login, But Says Expired

I am working with ZenCart, and have a store setup. Everything works great, until the user attempts to place the order, at which point it asks for the user to login. After logging in, the system simply goes back to the main page and says, "Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in?" If you have something in your cart and login, they get "Whoops - your session has expired."

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

Have you an URL where we can see this?

Also could you post your Session Settings?

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

Yeps ... it's broke ...

The session id on your site is making short session ids ... I have seen this before but off hand I cannot put a finger on the cause ...

Could you post your /includes/configure.php from your server without your username and password?

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

Does anyone have any idea what would cause this? I'd really like to get the store going.

Thanks, I very much appreciate any help I can get!

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.fire-house.net');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', '');

// Use secure webserver for checkout procedure?
define('ENABLE_SSL', 'false');

// NOTE: be sure to leave the trailing '/' at the end of these lines if you make changes!
// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL)
// these paths are relative to top of your webspace ... (ie: under the public_html or httpdocs folder)
define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/firesamples/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '');

Try those settings - you don't define https paths if you don't use ssl on your site.

Your ALL_PRODUCTS text is undefined.

Under Sessions try it with only Prevent Spider Sessions set to true.

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

You should not have to touch the secure URL that is what setting the Enabled to false does ...

I would, however, upgrade to the current version of Zen Cart v1.3.0.1 ... and then go from there ...

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

I admit I am a total noob with Zen, but have a vast experience with a certain other cart, and setting enable_ssl to false doesn't always do it. Sometimes you need to leave out any https paths as well. I'm not sure if this is the problem here, but it won't harm to leave them out and might help.

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

Beg to differ ... Zen Cart utilizes those settings to know how to correctly set the secure and non-secure pages ... so you can safely utilize the Enable set to false ... that is why they are there ... :smile:

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

I am having this same issue on IIS 5. It will create customer accounts, but will not allow them to log in. I also have been unable to edit the text in the html_includes, etc via the admin interface. I've had to manually edit the php files.

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

I set the use_pconnect to true in the configure.php and erased all references to https locations, stopped and restarted the web service, and the issue went away.

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

odd solution ...

The pconnect is set to not work regardless of the setting at this time ...

Perhaps it was something else that the restart was able to fix for you ...

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

Now that I think about it, I may have enabled a PHP extension at the suggestion of the setup, but I may not have restarted it until then. I think it was:

extension=php_curl.dll

I don't know if this would affect this issue or not.

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

That might effect modules that require curl ... but login isn't one of them ... :cry:

Maybe the site just needs a good kick in the ... :oops:

Glad you got it working! :smile:

Re: Users Login, But Says Expired

I've tried basically everything listed here, and still no luck. Here are a few clues, maybe this will help out:

  • If I set the https to blank (''), the user stays logged in. However, when he goes to check out, it just loops at Step 1. It never goes to step 2.

  • If I set the Admin-Sessions->Recreate Session to false, and have the https named correctly, the user stays logged in. Again, though, thy can't check out.

I have not updated the software yet, but am working on doing that later today.

In the meantime, any ideas?

Running Fedora 5. I think MySQL 5.0.18 and php is 2.8.0.2. That php thing may be wrong, though.
