Does UPS work if your store address is in the UK?

My packages ship from the UK. Can I use the UPS module? It keeps giving me an error in the shipping area. When I set it so the store will be shipping products from the USA, the UPS module works error free.

I think im right in saying that is uses the zip code of the store for calculations and if you have entered a UK Post code into the store details its not going to work as it wont be recognised.

Is there anyway around it? So the calulations can be based off of a UK location, without errors coming up?

Not being in the UK I am not positive about much of the following;

Make sure that not only in store details your post code is correct but also in admin > Location/Taxes > Zone Definitions that the selections are correct...

Also this has been touted as an excellect mod for the UK but is listed for up to 1.2.7. I also have not looked at what files are contained within and possibly are compatible with 1.3.x
