Category Box Width

Where and how do I change the category box width. right now some of them go into 2 lines, I'd like to make them allon one line. Will this effect the main page and other side colums? Thanks

In your store admin > configuration > layout settings

There are 2 places you need to adjust the left column width

Column Width Left Boxes

and

Column Width - Left

One adjusts the space for the left column and the other adjusts the boxes in the column
