Urgent Help needed!

Ok guys help a fellow Zen Cart'er out:

I had Zencart 2.7x running fine on bl uer ip per DOT com which is hosted by BlueHost.com.

Last week I decided to upgrade it to 3.x buy downloading the upgrade. After downloading the files to my computer, I uploaded the folders and files to the server using my FTP program. Everything went fine, except after doing that, I went to the site, everything on there said "illegal access".

I called the hosting company up and had them do a full backup, and now I get a "HTTP 500" error.

Any input on this?

Should I do a full install again? Will that take away my excising products, settings, stylesheets, pictures, etc?

Thank you,
Sam

Re: Urgent Help needed!

For your saighs, I hope you made a full backup of your store (all files + mySQL Database) before considering to upgrade.

Second - hopefully you tested this over a test server / different path on same server with different prefix name / database name before executing the upgrade in case of failing.

In the mean time, hope you have set your site under maintenance if you did executed the upgrade under your live store - on the fly (unrecommended procedure).

If so, by simply restoring your backup should do the trick. :wink2:

Re: Urgent Help needed!

That is where the problem is:

Full back up won't fix it. After fully restoring, it still says access denied on the main page. I did a daily back up, then a weekly back up, none of them fixed the problem.

When I look at my file structure, everything still look the same.

Should I do a full install? hopefully that would fix things?

Re: Urgent Help needed!

Since your site returns a ' The page cannot be displayed ', it would be quite hard to determine if it is a server-side issue or a user-side issue would it ? :wink2:

Re: Urgent Help needed!

If the server-side is good and no one can see your pages on your own site ... it is quite problematic.

Please post your includes/configure.php file without your mySQL Server name, mySQL Database name, mySQL Login name and mySQL Password.

In the mean time, what does your web error logs states about this from your cPanel access ?

Re: Urgent Help needed!

CAUTION - this is just a thought until one of the devs arrive like the lone ranger.

Do you have a backup of admin/configure.php AND includes/configure.php from the live site? Even one that is weeks old would likely work. It appears that they were overwritten in the 'upgrade' and now key lines are empty.

CAUTION - if you think I was kidding earlier, well, don't.

Best wishes

Re: Urgent Help needed!

The errorlog suggests that the includes/classes/categories_ul_generator.php may be bad.
The latest archived version of the CSS Flyout Menu is at:
http://www.zen-cart.com/archived_contributions/sideboxes/css-flyout-categories-v1.3.0.zip

That may be a start.

Re: Urgent Help needed!

Hmm..

I tried that Dr.Byte, but no luck :(

this is what I get when I goto install directory:

Warning: main(../includes/classes/class.base.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/blueripp/public_html/zc_install/includes/application_top.php on line 28

Warning: main(../includes/classes/class.base.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/blueripp/public_html/zc_install/includes/application_top.php on line 28

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../includes/classes/class.base.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/blueripp/public_html/zc_install/includes/application_top.php on line 28

SO my question again is, IF I FULLY install everything, would I lose all the product and customizations I have done?

Re: Urgent Help needed!

Some files were missed during your upload operation from, either, FTP or cPanel's file manager.

Simply upload class.base.php under the zc_install/includes/classes folder and this error should not appear again.

Re: Urgent Help needed!

Ok.. Thanks it worked. But now I have this error in install page:

Warning: main(includes/languages/english/index.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/blueripp/public_html/zc_install/index.php on line 24

Warning: main(includes/languages/english/index.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/blueripp/public_html/zc_install/index.php on line 24

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/languages/english/index.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/blueripp/public_html/zc_install/index.php on line 24

What should be changed for this? I looked at the file, but I am a little confused.

Why I am getting all these errors? Is it because I might be going from 2.6 to 3.x?

This has been explained on my post above.

Is it because I might be going from 2.6 to 3.x?

If so, then you must follow precisely the upgrade instructions from your docs folder. However, for your case, it's still a matter of missing files.

Simply upload your english.php file into your includes/languages folder. This error message should not appear again.

SO my question again is, IF I FULLY install everything, would I lose all the product and customizations I have done? You will need to update all your PHP files to merge your customizations into the new code. Your database changes will be retained, and the database can be upgraded by following the documented upgrade instructions.

Man... I am confused...

so if I download the full install and upload those to the server, then run the installation, it should be fine?

Re: Urgent Help needed!

If you intend to do so, I'd strongly recommend to practice over a test folder from the same server or from a different server. This way, by maintaining this process, you won't ever override your live store and find yourself into disastrous situations.

Once you uploaded all the files over your FTP / cPanel, all you need to do is to follow the installation instructions on your docs folder from the ZIP package you downloaded from Zen Cart's site.

Re: Urgent Help needed!

Which installation process did you chosed from your test folder / server ? (Full or Upgrade ?)
