Coupon for free item?

I want to have a coupon that they can add that adds a free t-shirt to their order. Can this be done on zen-cart? The only way I can think of is to create a coupon with no discount value but in the description put free t-shirt and we will see this on the order?????

Re: Coupon for free item?

I have a similar problem. I want to give a free item with a $10 purchase. I set up the coupon with a minimum order of $10. Upon checkout, used the coupon and the products that I purchased showed up on completion of sale but the item that was to be free didn't show up.
Is there a way to set this up?

Re: Coupon for free item?

Coupon are meant for discounts, you can limit it to one item and give them 100% off-
