Disable flat rate for international?

Since we cant add an extra fee to flat rate on international shipping, is there any way to disable it when someone out of the US orders something?
Help, im getting killed on people taking advantage of this!

This is the sort of situation that the 'zones' module was meant to address. Set up a zone for inside the US, and other zones for other countries as required. Then uninstall the flat rate module & the problem goes away.
