Testing before transferring DNS - now what?

tried to serach the forum before posting, but I am not really sure even how to search for the answer. I am in the process of moving my live store to a different host - and since I was running on an earlier version of ZC thought this would be a good time to update and change a few things. So I created a store in 1.3 on my new host, using my fixed IP during the install rather than DNS name. Once I am ready to move my DNS entries and point to the new server, what do I need to change to get the new store running (or do I need to do anything at all?)

Am I making any sense at all?

Edit the two configure.php files and change from using the dedicated ip address to using the domain name - otherwise when people come to your domain their session id will change as soon as they start moving about the site.
