If anyone can please step me through what I need it would be much appreciated. I am still stuck on the background images.
All I need is a custom tab labeled backgrounds.
When people click on the tab it will show all the background options available (of course small images) and when they click on an image it will enlarge to full size.
All the images will be in a 1 directory. All the images will be FTP'd into that directory. I need all the images in the directory to automatically appear under the backgrounds tab.
This will allow customers to see the background options when choosing poems to go with the background. See website for details at https://www.poetryinpictures.com/shop/ to get a better hint at what I am trying to accomplish.

I believe I can help you on this.
I had set up something similar on a site Ive been working on.

additional images module wont work for you unless you only have 6 backround
options

You will need a thumbnail size image for each backround, that will go into the
product descriptions in the admin section along with the "Backrounds" tab

then a seperate html page with the full size image on that page, for the click
for larger image function.

then just link that thumbnail image on the backround tab to the appropriate html page for that backround.

hope I didnt confuse you, but a basic html editor and image program to resize
would be all you need. eg Gimp and notepad

I dont want to step out of line in this thread by going into too much detail
so PM me tommorrow and I can give you a step by step if needed.

just tryin to help, and give something back for the knowledge and help Ive gained
myself from the great folks here.

You also have another option. I see on your site you have a drop down box for background options. There is an option in the attribs area that you can have an image for each of the options you offer. I am not sure tho if it switches on the fly when you select a different option.. i dont think so at this time. But With some modifications, I could put the attribs on their own tab and you could use this method. But this could also be confusing if the backgrounds are on a diff tab and people dont see them and end up gettin a bg they dont want or get an error talkin about something and they aren't smart enough to figure it out.

Thats because on the tab version (ie the button and options on the actual tab) I used a table to get everything lined up better. I too didn't like the options being below the add to cart button.. but there were issues doing it with divs only at one point. But i didnt want to force people to use tables if they wanted the add to cart stuff outside of the tabs. so i left it as default.

You can copy the "add-to-cart" section from the tab template and overwrite the add to cart section on the normal template and it should have it the way u want it.

As far as options on a different tab.. I will look into it.

I have got the Tabbed Lite template set up on my site and I love just about everything about it. In running through and adding some test products I noticed something I havent been able to correct.

When using the Tabbed Lite set up it forces my 'Add to Cart' box, 'Tell a Friend' box, 'Write a Review' box and the shipping weight, stock and manufacture info down to the bottom of the page. I have been searching everywhere to try and correct this.

I found out how to control the width of the tab box that has focus by adding a width statement to the css in the following:

.ditch-tab-skin-default .ditch-tab-pane-wrap {
position:relative;
z-index:9;
border:1px solid silver;
padding:8px 15px;
}

I just added a width statement to that and it changed the width but had no affect on the placement of the affected items above.

I then went into the tpl_product_info_display.php file that is provided with Tabbed Lite and found the following there:

There were a few entries like that and I tried changing them individually with no luck. I dont know if I need to change all of the entries as well as change/remove the style="display:block; statement that accompanies each of the divisions that contain the table statements above.

EEP! you are using version 1.x of TabbedLite.. I'm not even sure where you found that :P. The tab system is actually completely different now in version 2.x and 3.x. I don't support 1.x any longer. Please completely remove the version you installed and install the latest 3.6AE version. That should fix your problems as well. Download it from the link in my signature.

Okay, I messed something up. Hopefully someone has an idea, though I'll keep searching for a solution from my end.

I installed the new version of Tabbed Products (after uninstalling the old version) and now im getting the below error message from the product display page (shows up at the very bottom of the page). When I go to the admin side and try to access the product from there to revise the description I see the same error message there and my product list doesnt show up.

1 Can't create/write to file '/tmp/#sql_8e5_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13)
in:

I'll keep looking for what I messed up. I dont know how to undo the sql patch. The store is not online yet but I had pretty much most of it set up the way I wanted but only had a couple test products in there to work out the final details. Thanks in advance for any help.

Okay, went to Tools > Layout Box Controller and did a reset and everything seems fine now. Product list on the backend shows up and Im not seeing any more error messages.

Well. to have it the way you want it, you'd either have to make your own module that acts like the additional images module that uses those extra images and displays them dynamically. Or you can do it the easier way and directly code them into the product description and just use html to create a table. Then if I can easily pull the attrib code and put it on that tab, you could have the drop down up top, and the images on the tab.

I will take a look at that this week.

I think that way would be the easiest since I would not have the first clue about writing a module, but I can hard code html. Thanks for all your help! :smile:

Reading the Readme.htm file I got the impression that there were more configuration options on the backend side. As well under Admin > Config I have two menu listings for Tabbed Products Config. Anyone have any ideas?

Now that Ive said all that, let me tell you the ways I love this contrib. I have messed with a lot of ecommerce (open source) solutions out there and this contribution has to be the finest of any third party contribution I have ran across.

The whole Tabbed Product concept is wonderful and affords you a ton of flexibility. I really REALLY hope they would not only consider but make this a permanent part of ZC.

Its a tad bit more work setting up the <!--% tags as I had to give thought to the tab names and then with each product I have to cut n past that into the editor then add the relevant information, but for what it affords you in flexibility it is well worth it.

So hats off to qhome for not only putting this out there but for the outstanding support he is providing for this contribution.

Im glad you like it. :) Concerning your admin panel showing only one menu option. This is a problem affecting a small handful of people. The best way to fix it is to manually fix the configuration_group_id in phpmyadmin to point to the correct configuration_group_id.

However, I just had another idea that might work. I might be able to write either a sql script to correct the numbering OR a script that uses a forced super high number like the user_tracking contrib to ensure proper table creation. Give me till tomorrow to work on that and see if I can find a better solution for those having this problem.

SQL FIX

For those people having a problem with the Tabbed Lite menu in the Admin panel showing only 1 option instead of 10, run this sql file to correct it.

This file will delete any existing problematic Tabbed Product Tables that are having problem with the last_insert_id() mysql function. I've tested it on 2 different shops with success.

Only run this if you have problems with the admin panel area showing only one option.

Golly qhome, you are pretty dang quick with the help. Your post said maybe tomorrow and the next reply is the fix. Jeeesh, great contrib, great, no, excellent support and its all free. It really baffles me, with open source stuff, how people give some much of often over the top tallent and dont ask for much if anything in return. I feel guilty sometimes that I dont know more PHP and such so I can contribute.

Okie Dokie qhome, that worked, I now have all the options on the admin side. I LOVE the fact I can put the image and Add To Cart on the first tab, VERY nice touch. It cleans everything up very nicely. They HAVE to make this part of the distribution of ZC. I mean ZC is just on another level altogether from other solutions Ive tried but this contrib, added to the main install/distribution would just put ZC over the top.

The only thing left that I see is that I have two menu links on the admin > configuration to the Tabbed Products Config. Any ideas on how I can get rid of the extra one. One link takes me to the configuration page with all the options, while the other goes to a configuration page with nothing. It has the title bar but absolutely no options.

Its not a biggie, I can deal with it, it doesnt interfere with the operation of anything other than I click on the wrong one sometimes.
