Additional specials in sidebox

First I would like to thank the zen team for creating such a wonderful piece of software, and the forum participants who make it much easier to accomplish the necessary customizations. I had agreed to setup a template with no knowledge of the software's inner workings, but it hasn't been a bad experience.

Anywho, I'm trying to add another special (for a total of 2) to the sidebox. I did this by creating another instance of the object that grabs the code for the special. This works and all, but on a rare occasion it picks the same random product twice. Has anybody already accomplished what I'm trying to do?

The new version 1.3.8 actually have an add-on called editable sidebox. Which allows you to add custom sidebox. Not sure if this is what you are looking for. Cheers.

If you go into the settings of your site - under configuration/ maximum values there is a setting for the number of products to show in each side box such as featured, sale, new, etc.
