Coupon Success Message Appears When It Shouldn't

I had this posted in the "Creating Coupons" section but since it's not a question on how to create a coupon I probably should have posted it here (plus no one responded with a fix :lookaroun).

The alledged bug: When a legitimate coupon is applied at checkout the "Congratulations you have redeemed the Discount Coupon" box pops up even if the minimum $ requirement for the coupon has not been met. It works fine for restrictions, just not for the minimum purchase amount.

Example: I have set up a coupon for $5 off orders over $100. When the code is entered and the order is below $100 the box saying: "Congratulations you have redeemed the Discount Coupon" pops up even though the coupon, rightly, was not applied to the price.

I believe Ajeh had submitted this for part of the 1.3.0.2 bugfix release.

Thanks for the update to let us know that the fix in v1.3.0.2 was indeed the solution for your Coupon Message showing when it was not valid due to minimum amount ... :smile:

Anybody tried the following situation?
Order with many items, one of which is eligible for discount coupon with category and minimum amount restrictions. When the total amount of the order is above the minimum amount restriction but the amount of the item eligible for the discount coupon is below that restriction, I still get the message 'Congratulations! you have redeemed the Discount Coupon'. The total amount is not reduced though, which is good. Only the message is confusing because the discount coupon wasn't actually appplied.

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

So you are saying when the Order Total is $300.00 and the Discount Coupon minimum is $200 but the restriction is for just products_id 37 and you order all kinds of stuff ... including products_id 37 but not $200 of products_id 37 and it says:

Congrats ... but doesn't really get accepted because now the restriction on the minimum is for a given Product more or less and not for the whole order and the message is totally baffling to the customer ... :eek:

You've got it. I've just upgraded to v.1.3.0.2.

We will have to look into an additional switch of some sort ...

Some want the Minimum to be based on Total Orders ...

Some want the Minimum to be based on Total of the Restricted Products ...
