Group Pricing for One Product Category?

Is there a way to create a group pricing discount and assign it to just one product category.

For example, I have 6 categories on my site... I also have certain members who are entitled to a discount for ONLY one category and none of the other categories.

Is there a way to do this or is group pricing universal across the entire cart? Or is there a contribution that can do this?

Thanks!

Patty

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

Having looked around a Demo cart I do not see this capability built in for categories or by product.

I am surethat one could or find someone that could custom code this at least from the cart side. Making it part of the admin is another case but could also be done. This is if you find that this is a must have it could be worth the cost/time to add it.

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

I believe the dual-pricing mod may support this, since you can set prices for certain groups at the per-product level. If you don't have tons of products then setting the discounted prices shouldn't be too difficult...

Quantity Discounts version 1.1 supports category (or item) targetted discounts. See

Good luck,

I installed the dual pricing mod to my zc. It isn't working though. The products don't come up with retail & wholesale price input area. The customer list still has the group pricing heading rather than the sugested wholesale.

Could it be because I added the files to my template folder rather than overwritting the original files?

Any idea will be appreciated.

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

This is essentially what I had to do with my member + quantity discounts pricing. I used the group pricing by item with swguy's awesome quantity discounts module. I did not try the dual pricing module since it seemed to be for an older version of zc than I had.

Glad it worked out for you, acmfox.

vivaraquel, there's a dual pricing mod support thread that you may want to read - perhaps that would give you some ideas on your issue.

Good luck,
Scott

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

Hey Scott,

I run a shop that sells skateboards. I have some riders that I sponsor via product discounts. There are different levels (3 different levels to be precise) of discount sponsorship that I offer. I not only sell skateboards but I also sell skateboarding products but the sponsorship discounts only apply to my company's skateboard decks. Can I set specific percentage discounts to these specific levels for my decks 'only' for those riders that I sponsor using your module? And will it work something like this:

Rider 1 at level 1 goes on to my shop to buy a couple of decks. He picks two of our decks giving him a 10% discount but he wants to buy trucks and wheels that he does not get a sponsorship discount on... Will your module work for this type of situation applying the 10% discount only to the two skateboard decks but not to the trucks and wheels he is purchasing?

Thanks!

Hi Scott,

I'm interested in the same type of thing as the skateboards. I need to be able to set two discount groups.....but each and every single product in my store needs to be able to have a different % discount rate for the two groups. So basically.....I have "Wholesale Customers" and "Preferred Customers" and the everyone else. For "Product A" Wholesale customers get 10% off and Preferred customers get 5% off. For "Product B" Wholesale customers get 11% off and Preferred customers get 6% off.

Would any of your mods support such a thing?

Thank you!

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

I believe the dual-pricing module was supposed to work that way.
Scott may have further insight though.

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

Is it possible to set two different percentage discounts for the same category. For example 15% off from £0 - £250 and 30% off from £250.01 to £600?

I sell curtain poles and within the attributes there are many prices dependant on length of pole. At the moment I am only give a flat discount of all.

I need to do this to compete with other sellers. We are currently using 1.3.8

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

Quantity Discounts allows you to discount by dollars spent, and there's a user exit that allows you to constrain discounts only to certain categories.

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

I need to apply group pricing for all categories but not for master category 103
So I think i could edit ot_group_pricing in those lines:

function get_order_total() {
    global  $order;
    $order_total_tax = $order->info['tax'];
    $order_total = $order->info['total'];
    if ($this->include_shipping != 'true') $order_total -= $order->info['shipping_cost'];
    if ($this->include_tax != 'true') $order_total -= $order->info['tax'];
    $orderTotalFull = $order_total;
    $order_total = array('totalFull'=>$orderTotalFull, 'total'=>$order_total, 'tax'=>$order_total_tax);
    return $order_total;

I try to add ```php
$excluded_category_qty = $_SESSION['cart']->in_cart_check('master_categories_id','103');
if (($_SESSION['cart']->in_cart_check('master_categories_id','103') > 0)) $order_total = $order_total - $excluded_category_qty;

do you  have any suggestions?

Re: Group Pricing for One Product Category?

I try like that but it doesn't operate!!

function get_order_total() {
    global  $order;
    $order_total_tax = $order->info['tax'];
    $order_total = $order->info['total'];
    if ($this->include_shipping != 'true') $order_total -= $order->info['shipping_cost'];
    if ($this->include_tax != 'true') $order_total -= $order->info['tax'];
	global $order;
	$excluded_category_qty = $_SESSION['cart']->in_cart_check('master_categories_id','107');
    if ($_SESSION['cart']->in_cart_check('master_categories_id','107') > 0) $order_total = $order_total - $excluded_category_qty;
    $orderTotalFull = $order_total;
    $order_total = array('totalFull'=>$orderTotalFull, 'total'=>$order_total, 'tax'=>$order_total_tax);
    return $order_total;
  }

why? (versione 1.3.8a)
