how can i customize buttons?

Hi! I need to know how I can customize and use my own buttons - like the 'ADD TO CART'. I have already created a separate template which I'm using but can't seem to figure out how to take care of the buttons.

Take a look in the following folder
/includes/templates/template_default/buttons/english
All buttons required are there.
Copy /buttons/english to your custom template
i.e. /includes/templates/yourtemplate/buttons/english
Start customising, but buttons must keep same name i.e.
button_back.gif

If you need to change the name of a button, to use a different format for example, you can change the suffix or name in includes/languages/button_names.php. Copy, make your changes and save in your override directory.

I followed these instructions trying to use my custom graphic for the add to cart button, but it is not showing up different. I have cleared my temporary internet files and closed the browser window and reopened it, but it remains the same.

I'm using the classic templete would this make a difference? I didn't think it would since I'm using my own custom templete.

Any ideas? :dontgetit :unsure:
