1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

My hosting service just upgraded me from CPanel to Plesk control panel, and it also looks like they are now on MySQL 5.0 x. My Zencart store is 1.3.7, and I am now seeing this error.

Is there any work arounds for this issue other than upgrading the ZenCart store software?

I can administer the store, but when folks look at a product, they get this error. I am dead in teh water until one of you smart Zen Carters help me out.

Your best solution is to upgrade your Zen Cart software to a version that works with your server.

Re: 1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

Holy cow! This is not good at all.

The Paypal, Google and Sitemeter apps are MODS I presume.

I tried to upgrade via Fantastico on my server and it came up with an error.

I don't have a lot of experiencing modifying files such as these, but I suppose I can give it a shot, but for those of us with MODS, how should I upgrade?

Re: 1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

PayPal comes with Zen Cart in many flavors ...

Google and Sitemeter do not ...

Anything that doesn't know what a products_id is must really, really be broken or definitely not properly installed or somebody really messed up your database table(s) if the field is missing from the database table(s) ...

While it is great that Fantastico offers an install/upgrade feature ... it is strongly recommend that for Live Sites that you use the real current version of Zen Cart from our link and get the full release and upgrade a test site first and practice with that before attempting to apply an upgrade to a Live Site ...

There are numerous examples in the /docs and the FAQs and the Wiki as well as through out the Free Forums on the best methods and practices to upgrades that you should really review ...

Re: 1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

DrByte:

There is an unsupported patch for v1.2.6 and v1.2.7 at the following site, which can be used to do partial bridging for a limited number of MySQL5 features.
Use at your own risk.
http://download.dataweb.no/

Thank you DrByte .... this patch worked perfectly. The readme file lacks direction, but to those who follow, simply copy the .php files in the patch to their proper location in your production directory. This worked great. thanks.

Re: 1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

I've got an older Zen cart store that I just recently moved and am running into the same problems as listed above.

I ran through all of the patches and fixes posted here.
I did not run the sql download from the links posted by Dr. Byte - Yet.

I can't seem to log into my admin, and the email password didn't send me anything - so I'm unable to check which version of ZC I am running.
Is there another way to tell?

The only broken part left on the store front is the category pages.
The product pages show, and I can even show a list of all products - all works fine.

It's the links that are structured like this: catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8
I get an error: 1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

And, if I add an item to my cart, it just gives me a "cart empty" screen.

Questions are, I guess:
Do I revert to the old server?

Or

Can I find the version number in the install files somehow, to try the sql patches?

Thanks in advance!
