Random product list

I've seen the 'New Products' already appearing at the centercolumn main. I'm not sure about 'Special Products' or 'Featured Products' appearing at the middle too, but they are being set, I believe, with date options and selected items.

I just wanna know if anyone knows how to make a 'Random Products' inside the main column that supports, let's say, shows three items, all coming from all categories.

Otherwise, you would need to write a new module for the center column and integrate it into the overall page layout.

Re: Random product list

I'm sorry I'm kinda new to this thing. Do you mean I should use the modules like 'Featured Products' and 'Special Products' and set their Maximum Number to 1?

Yes, I believe creating a module for that would be more effective, that having no date limits, no category limits and not product specific. However, I'm sure that wouldn't be simple. It would also be a great help if anyone could provide the script, not of the entire module, but simply how the 'random' works.
