Shopping cart quantity and that little box

Hey all -

When I am in my shopping cart - if I change to quantity and click the [update cart] button it sets the quantity back to one and doesn't update the price. However, when adding products to the cart initially, I have no problem adding multiple items.

I am dying to know - what does that little checkbox under the "trash icon" in the cart do?

the checkbox lets you select which items you want to delete, and then click an update button in order to delete that entry. You don't have to delete one-at-a-time that way.

OK - now I know why it couldn't figure out what the checkbox does - it doesn't work either.

If I change quantities and click "update cart" they go back to there original values.

If I check the little boxes and click "update cart" the checkbox clears but the products stay in the cart.

Any ideas how I go about fixing this?

Did you upgrade from v1.3 to v1.3.0.1?

If so, did you update all of the files?

Yes - I did upgrade from 1.3.

Re-check the files and make sure you loaded all of the changed files and if using overrides that you updated them ...

Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com is a very handy tool for this ...

Sounds like you missed an update on either the /includes/modules/pages/shopping_cart/header_php.php or on the /includes/templates/templates_default/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

Check any associated overrides for your template ...

I think I performed to upgrade successfully. Is there some way to check?

The part where it is not fixed indicates something may have been over looked ...

Reload the files for:
/includes/pages/shopping_cart

/includes/templates/template_default/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

I am assuming you got the upgrade from us and not somewhere else ...

Yes, v1.3.0.1 was from you.

Compared all the files in the upgrade to what was up on my server.

Had two mismatches:
\includes\modules\product_listing.php
\includes\templates\template_default\templates\tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

  slightly older versions

I was sure we fixed my problem.

Alas when I moved the updated files up - no change. :frusty:

Make sure also that the file:
/includes/classes/shopping_cart.php

is current as well ...

For giggles ... switch to Classic ... does this fix this issue?

If not, after switching to Classic ... rename

/includes/templates/classic

to read:

/includes/templates/classic_HIDE

I really appreciate the time you are spending trying to figure out this problem.

Unfortunately,

/includes/classes/shopping_cart.php - was current

changing to "Classic" template - had no effect

changing /includes/templates/classic to /includes/templates/classic_HIDE - also no effect on the problem (did change the appearance significantly)

Thanks again for trying the troubleshooting - Is there some way (approach to take) for me to trace what is happening? A debug mode? Should I be looking for something in the page source?

Is your whole site properly done with overrides?

If so, backup your site ...

Then load the whole of the Full Zen Cart v1.3.0.1 ...

Some file(s) must be out of wack ... and this is the fastest method I can think of to assure that all is right on your site ...

But, be sure you backup your whole site to be safe before doing this ...

I need a hand

I've narrowed down the problem behavior but need to know if it's just my install or if everyone has the same issue.

Problem is the shopping cart "quantity" and multiple delete "check box" don't work when the cart update /refresh button is pressed.

Here's the catch -

In Admin - Configuration - Stock - "Show Shopping Cart - Update Cart Button Location"

there are three choices:
1 for each item
2 only at bottom
3 both

It works just fine for me with either 1 or 3 selected. However if I select 2 it does not update quantity or perform multiple deletes <<<
(single delete "the can" always works)

Is this only my install ??

And I thought I was really onto something - silly me:blush: .

I did backup my site.

But I didn't
"Then load the whole of the Full Zen Cart v1.3.0.1 ... "

Was not sure what this meant, and I got fraidy scared.

Reapply the upgrade to 1.3.0.1?

Or install a completely fresh version from scratch and then restore my template files and reapply all of the add-ons I've installed? This would be a PITA, and Im afraid I might make a worse mess.

btw (since you are the only one who will talk to me :laugh: )

do you know if it's ok to delete all the records in the "zen_admin_activity_log" table?
