index.php and server overload?

lextechs:

Thanks for you help, i decided the VPS might be a better move for now, since there seem to be no clear answer.
And ... that still isn't the right solution for you.
You'll still need to go through your system and find what's broken, or you'll continue to have slowness on your site.
AND, if you've been hacked, you're leaving yourself wide open to additional problems.

Re: index.php and server overload?

this site has being running on this hosting company for 3-4 year now. I have a direct feed from my distributors that uploads products and categories daily. There are no new modules every thing have always been there on the site

I would not post a question if i have found the answer to it, yes i did read the thread, and the suggestion have been incorpated. The update was added long before this problem happen. And from what i can tell the site have not been hacked, at least from what i can see however i am not a programmer i did went the clean version of Zencart and compared to my mod version but really doesn't tell me if there is a whole in the site securty since all i pretty much see is the moded addons, I would guest they are not causing the problem as they come from the download section and i am sure before they are posted Zencart checks for safety issues.

Unless i can duplicate the problem there is no way for me to know what is causing it.

... the moded addons, I would guest they are not causing the problem as they come from the download section and i am sure before they are posted Zencart checks for safety issues. The downloads in the Free Addons area are NOT audited to provide any guarantees that they are perfectly safe. ALL ADDONS ARE USE-AT-YOUR-OWN-RISK.
If you have addons that you're concerned about, perhaps uninstalling them might be prudent.
Especially if you recently installed an addon that's causing you problems.

As I said before, I suspect your site has actually had problems for a long time, but your hosting company has only recently turned on some reporting and suddenly identified your site as causing problems.

Exactly. I have no magical abilities to solve your unique problem either. Hence the various suggestions of things to investigate and test.
I wish you well in your research ...
