Product images won't display

I have no idea why, but the product images won't display on this site, https://www.greekgoodiez.com/index.php. If you right click, you can see that the image path is there and it is correct. If you try and view the image URL outside of the store, it says that the image has errors. If I FTP the image to the folder directly, it shows up perfectly. I have checked and all settings, permissions, etc are correct. I am thinking it is a problem with the host but does anyone have any other thoughts?

How are you uploding the images that are not displaying? And to where?

ZenCart should be uploading the image when you set the product up in the catalog and specify the image to upload. Alternatively, you can FTP the to the /images folder and then just enter the image name and where it asks "Overwrite Existing Image? Use No for manually typed names" select the 'no' button.

You could also try FTP'ing the images that are not displaying and overwrite the current file and check if this corrects it.

The images that aren't displaying are the ones that are uploaded when the product is added. They are being uploaded to the images folder. They fine when when uploaded via FTP, however, the site owner does not want to have to FTP the picture everytime she adds a new product. Which I completely understand since the point is that she should be able to add the picture with the product! I just cannot figure out why they are not showing up that way :frusty:

For some reason, I can't get product images to display either. I keep getting red x's instead. I am getting no error messages. The image is being uploaded, if I browse the site using FTP, I see it is there, but I can't access it using a web browser. Same thing is happening for category images too. Any ideas?

I don't know if this is a problem with the latest version of zencart. It is happening with version Zen Cart 1.3.0.1, but it is working fine with version Zen Cart 1.2.6. Thoughts?

If you look at the properties of your images, they are showing the no_picture.gif, not a link to a product image. Maybe somehow they're not attaching to the product when you upload them? I'm sorry I'm not much help, I'm obviously not the image expert lol!

Mine are showing the product image link correctly but just not showing the image, it's bizarre!

Just read a thread about WinXP and IE. Might this be your combination?

Download FireFox and see if that is different.

Nope, I do use IE as well, but Firefox is my main browser, the pics won't show up in either one :(

Check that the image file is 755

Weird, but we're having the same problem...no images are showing on our site. no matter the browser - IE, Firefox or Opera. We're still live with the previous version of Zen Cart (we're working on the new version). Take a look and see if you think it could be related...

Check that your directory /images is 777 and all of its subdirectories are also set to 777

I am getting a forbidden error when attempting to access the images ...

OK, image directory and all subdirectories are set to 777 (they were all at 755). Still no luck on my end. Firefox doesn't throw that error at me...it displays the page as if the images weren't there. (but I have checked...they are present) Strange thing is this site was working perfectly yesterday....and has been for months now. Weird eh?

I wanted to let you know that I found the problem. Yesterday, I discovered that the hotlink protection in CPanel was disabled (not sure how that happened!). But I couldn't get CPanel to re-instate. So I contacted my provider and he said that CPanel was having troubles with the number of subdomains I had so he modified the .htaccess file himself. Stupid me to trust that he knew what he was doing!

So now my site is serving up images properly while being protected from hotlinking. NEVER trust someone else to do the job!

BTW, he even put in the wrong directory!!! That's why ZenCart wasn't working while my other sites were just fine!!

Yes, that is the error I am getting too :( I have checked and rechecked the permissions and they are all correct. I'm not clear what you meant by uploaded in the right format though? They were uploaded through the zen admin in the product add/edit page.

BUT, I did figure it out...sort of! I know how to fix it but I don't really understand why they didn't work. I opened an image in PSP and reduced the color depth. When I viewed the image properties, it said it was 24/16, but in PSP, I actually had the option to reduce it to 16 million colors, according to PSP it was at some weird level that I've never seen, x something or other. Anyways, after reducing it to 16 million colors and uploading via the zen cart admin, it worked just fine :) I tried it on several of the images and it worked each time. Totally bizarre!

Does anyone know how an image can even have more then the 16 million colors? Is it something to do with the way the images were captured in the first place? I've never seen that before so I'm really curious about it! And why did that make them not show up and say they have errors???

I'm also having the same problem - ftp the images up, check they're there - yup. names are correct but can't get the images to display in the store.
Latest version of production release of zen-cart.

I'm experiencing the same problem, my images doesn't show. The reason for this is that all permissions are removed (000) from the files and the /images directory. Is there anything in ZC that is fiddeling aroung with the permissions? This used to happen occasionally but now it has escalated and re-occurs within 24 hours after resetting permissions to 777 and 755..

I'm having the same problem. I have no idea what's wrong. The perms are correct. When I try to upload via the admin panel when I add a new produc the image never makes it to the server. No errors given but it's just not there when I go look for it.

So when I upload it via ftp it makes it to the server but the code is still spitting out the images/no_picture.gif.

This is driving me crazy.
