Have successful install Cannot enter admin

I have changed the htacess-bak like suggesteds, checked for errors none on server logs, and I also set for cookies.

PHP version 4.4.2
MySQL version 4.1.19-standard

Server side

I cannot log into admin with the chosen pass or lofin name and email isnt working to get new password. yet my site is set for emails.

Can anyone suggest what I need to do to correct this problem.

Is an error message displayed, or are you just returned to the login page with no messages?

What version of Zen Cart?
What version of PHP?
What version of Apache/IIS?

I am just returned with no messages to the log in same when I try to get emailed password hit submit nothing just empty and ready to log in again.,

If renaming the .htaccess file did not work then try deleting the cookie on your computer (for your site) and if you are accessing your site via a bookmark then delete that too - as bookmarks can become corrupted and cause all sorts of trouble.
