Parse error on line 36 suddenly popped up

A customer emailed me via my contact form today, telling me she got this error when she tried to check out:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/f/l/o/flourishes/html/catalog/includes/languages/english/create_account.php on line 36

I'm running version Zen Cart 1.3.0.1 and this is the first time I've had this come up. My cart has been running just fine up until now. Please, can someone tell me how to fix this? TIA!

Re: Parse error on line 36 suddenly popped up

That line is the text of an email to be sent to customers when they create an account. It is absolutely normal to change it. But to understand how this error is arising we would need to see what you or your client might have changed it to (including the HTML markup and the php define statement syntax).

Thank you for responding. Please tell me exactly where to go to get this and what specifically to C&P. I've only been running Zen Cart for about a month and still am very new to it.

Re: Parse error on line 36 suddenly popped up

That line, by default, has this code in it:

define('EMAIL_TEXT', 'With your account, you can now take part in the <strong>various services</strong> we have to offer you. Some of these services include:' . "\n\n" . '<li><strong>Permanent Cart</strong> - Any products added to your online cart remain there until you remove them, or check them out.' . "\n\n" . '<li><strong>Address Book</strong> - We can now deliver your products to another address other than yours! This is perfect to send birthday gifts direct to the birthday-person themselves.' . "\n\n" . '<li><strong>Order History</strong> - View your history of purchases that you have made with us.' . "\n\n" . '<li><strong>Products Reviews</strong> - Share your opinions on products with our other customers.' . "\n\n");

If it has been edited then look for words with apostrophies in and make sure that they are 'escaped' by a preceeding backslash, as in:

Let's = wrong
Let's = right

Vger, that was absolutely it! There was a word with an apostrophe; once I added the backslash, it solved the issue. Thank you! (Love the user name, BTW.)
