Who's online

Hello

Every time I go to a new product on my test site, the counter sees me as a new guest and/or member. Although most people prefer visiting crowded restaurants, and avoiding the quiet ones, I'm just curious as to why the counter sees me as a new guest with each page load, and whether this can be fixed.

Have a go in my crowded restaurant: http://parafanaylya.co.za/13

Oh and no buying please!:P

Hi Ajeh

I've never played with the sessions storing, so the 1st question I can't answer, but as I understand, they're stored in my cache directory

I am using the default settings

Re: Who's online

Look in both of your configure.php files in:

/includes

/admin/includes

Down at the bottom it will say where you are storing your sessions ...

Re: Who's online

I've cut and pasted the code - they're original and untouched by me.

Ajeh:

Look in both of your configure.php files in:

/includes

define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home2/patgreen/public_html/13/cache');

/admin/includes

Down at the bottom it will say where you are storing your sessions ...

define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home2/patgreen/public_html/13/cache');

Where to from here?:blink:

Re: Who's online

I was referring to this one:

define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'db'); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'db'

Re: Who's online

Note: we do have an update coming out for when the Recreate Session is turned on and it is making additional entrees with each change of session ...

This may or may not be related to your specific issue ...

Re: Who's online

If you turn off the Recreate Sessions and it stops duplicating you when you login ... then this fix will be out in the next release for the who's online ...

Note: Recreate Sessions true is the desired setting ... as is storing sessions to the database ...

I changed the setting to false, and it still duplicates as a guest or logged in....

Something else I have noticed is the special instructions box on the checkout pages is schmangled. As I wasn't sure of what to do with the overides, and using the Dezina template, I have 2 stylesheets in my / public_html / 13 / includes / templates /my_template / css / directory: the original stylesheet.css and their stylesheet2.css. Could this be causing the problem. Just running a quick test by temporarily renaming the original stylesheet to *.txt

Let me move the stylesheet post to the right place - forum rules rule OK!

Re: Who's online

Hopefully, the next release will take care of the extra records in the whos_online that you are getting ...
