Coupon Restrictions

I am trying to set up a coupon to get an item free with a minimum purchase. I have the coupon set up, but when I try to "Allow" the item in the Restrictions screen, the coupon doesn't show up at checkout. If I take the restriction off, it works just fine - any ideas??
