Sub-Categories Gone and page blank!

Our site has been running OK now for over 12 months. But now when I click on one category the page nearly goes blank execpt for the header section. I have checked the tables "categories", "categories_description" and "products_to_categories" and they look OK and consistent. When I look in the admin section the category has sub-categories etc. However, the html returned after clicking on the category looks incomplete (it stops on a <table> tag). If anyone has a few clues I would REALLY appreciate it, details of site are:

https://www.milsims.com.au
broken category is "Roleplaying Games"
Zencart V1.2.3

Thanks heaps

Re: Sub-Categories Gone and page blank!

Hi All,

We're still having the same problem with this site. We worked around it before by splitting up the size of the category into smaller chunks.
Now the "Collectable Cards and Miniatures" section of https://www.milsims.com.au won't show properly.
In addition, "Miniatures & Rules -> Warhammer 40,000" doesn't show a page at all! The only difference between these 2 categories is the the Warhammer 40,000 category has a product in it. If I add a test blank product into the "Collectable cards and miniatures" category, I get the same problem as with the Warhammer category. Take the test product out, and suddenly I get the header back, but no content under it.

Any clues?

Lenny

Re: Sub-Categories Gone and page blank!

How is your site setup?

I go to the link you give ... then it changes links on your site ...

What version Zen Cart?

Clean install or an upgrade?

If an upgrade from what version and how did you upgrade?

What happens if you switch to Classic?

What are your Session Settings?

Could you post your /includes/configure.php from your server without your username and password?

Re: Sub-Categories Gone and page blank!

The setup of Zen Cart is "as is" from the hosting provider.

I also have a test site that looks at exactly the same data (images out of date though). It can be found at https://www.milsims.com.au/test.

ZenCart version is 1.2.3, database patch level 1.2.2.
The install was clean - no upgrades (client is afraid to change anything! :P )

The test site has the classic template - and exactly the same result.

Session setup:
Session Directory /xxx/milsims.com.au/cache
Cookie Domain True
Force Cookie Use False
Check SSL Session ID False
Check User Agent False
Check IP Address False
Prevent Spider Sessions True
Recreate Session False

Configure script (from the test site, but prod site is similar)

// The next 2 "defines" are for SQL cache support.

// If you choose "file", then you need to set the DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE to a directory where your apache
// or webserver user has write privileges (chmod 666 or 777). We recommend using the "cache" folder inside the Zen Cart folder
// ie: /path/to/your/webspace/public_html/zen/cache -- leave no trailing slash
  define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'file');
  define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/xxx/milsims.com.au/test/cache');

?>

The strange thing is that this only started happening today. When we did the original update earlier this week, everything looked fine and dandy. No products were added in the last few days, either.
