Admin Activity Log Over 2 Monts Old

Hi All,

I logged in as Admin and saw this message:

"The Admin Activity Log table has records over 2 months old and should be cleaned "

What does this mean and why should I want to delete my admin activiy?

admin activity log will quickly fill up your dayabase.
amything over 2 months old is actually not needed
Empty Admin Activity Log table from the database

The Admin Activity Log is a tracking method that records activity in the Admin. Due to its nature it can become very large, very fast and does need to be cleaned out from time to time.
Warnings are given at 50,000 records or 60 days, which ever happens first.
if you go into the tools tab in admin you will see store manager
make your backup first then purge the records

I've got that message as well - so any help with regatrds to backing up would be appreciated.

If you have cPanel with your hosting it is very easy. Just click on "Backup" on the home page and then choose your database.

The other option is via phpMyAdmin or DrByte's plugin here.

Can anyone tell me what information will I lose if I reset my admin activiy log?

I am mainly concerned about losing customer orders.

It does what it says on the tin :D

Records all activity undertaken through Admin. For example if an order has been deleted you might want to find out when etc.
