Putting zen-cart on root directory...

I have read the FAQ and I thought this would be an easy task, but so far there is obviously something wrong...I have followed the directions in FAQ and updated both files admin/includes/configure.php and includes/configure.php with what I thought was the right information, but when I enter my website address into the browser search windown - this is the error I get.

Parse error: parse error, unexpected ':' in /home/content/a/b/b/abbiepql/html/includes/configure.php on line 39

I have scoured the file looking for the " or ' that are incorrect, but I don't see any that are out of the way, and the line it is calling for has this code in it "//the following path is a COMPLETE path to your Zen Cart files." So how do you count lines in PHP? Cuz I don't think that line is the issue...

Here is the file if anyone can tell me where I went wrong I sure would appreciate it...

Re: Putting zen-cart on root directory...

you need to either comment this line out ( //) or delete it
eg: /var/www/vhost/accountname/public_html/store/
this is an example and is supposed to be up one line,

Re: Putting zen-cart on root directory...

Thank you - I thought that looked a bit funny, but then it all looks greek to me! After I fixed the code and ran that cache_key contribution, it ran fine. Now if I could just get the admin side to run as nicely. Another parse error, so I will try to figure out what I am missing - must have something to do with my " and my '.

Thanks again ~ Abbie:-)

Re: Putting zen-cart on root directory...

This is the error;

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/a/b/b/abbiepql/html/admin/includes/configure.php on line 59

Thanks for the help - my eyes are crossed...

Here is the admin/includes/configure.php file I am working with...

Re: Putting zen-cart on root directory...

DONE!

I compared both of the config files that were changed and made sure that the one that worked had the same data as the one that did not - NOPE. So I fixed the busted one and made sure the line entries that were the same on both, were in fact the same - cuz my syntax sucks! And that is how I got it work - whew!

Thanks for the help - I would have been another night looking at this without help!

Abbie:-)
