Re: problems with getting to the admin page

The exact details of the error message would be helpful.

The URL would be helpful too :)

Re: problems with getting to the admin page

the error message sais:

The page you requested is unavailable

The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

and it jumps to this url: http://templates.doteasy.com/ErrorPages/error404/

apart from that I really have no idea what I'm doing wrong, I followed the instal instructions completely, took out the ZC_install folder, and changed the CHMOD of the 2 config.php to 444, an then when I'm supposed to click on the very last button (to go to the admin section, an personalize the shop) it comes up with the above. I'm new to this, an completely clueless, so any help would be REALLY appreciated. thanks

Re: problems with getting to the admin page

in your /admin/includes/configure.php, set these to 'false':

  define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'false');
  define('ENABLE_SSL_ADMIN', 'false');

It looks like your settings for SSL access are incorrect. You don't need them right away, so turn them off for now.

Will likely have to do the same for your /includes/configure.php file: ENABLE_SSL

Re: problems with getting to the admin page

I have different issues with getting anything in admin to work. I can get in but when I click on anything say store configure this error appears.

I have no clue what to do about it. I did move this site from another site. Is there something I should be editing in the database???

Needed to use the session cache fix, that fixed those issues now this one popped up.

1062 Duplicate entry '0' for key 1 is the error after I try to go to any of the features in the admin error.

Thanks for the help.

Time crunch and need to get this up right away.

Re: problems with getting to the admin page

Sounds like you may have already followed these instructions?
http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Server_Admin_-_Switch_Servers#I_want_to_move_my_Zen_Cart_installation_to_another_host_or_a_different_server

Did you run the SQL commands posted here?
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=215391#post215391
If not, that should solve the problem of the "Duplicate entry" error you're reporting.
For easy access, in the v1.3.0.2 download, there is a script for this, found in zc_install/db_rebuild_autoincrement.sql which you can load via phpMyAdmin

Re: problems with getting to the admin page

I too am having a similar problem.. I did a new install from fantasico then ran the patches to update with the bugfix (the site worked ok admin included until I ran the bugfix) Now I can not access the admin center the cart side appears to be working (at least it can be viewed that's a start..lol) The only difference is I'm not getting a 404 page but a 403 (forbidden) page I do have a SSL installed and I have read thru the forums from what I could find and have tried various things (just uploading the admin folder again - I have set the config files to 444 and even tried 644 neither works) the site address is https://www.everythingsunflower.com the cart is installed at root level and the admin is everythingsunflower.com/admin I'd appreciate any assistance possible.

How exactly did you apply the upgrade patch?
and ... did fantastico install 1.3.0.1 for you ? do you know what version you upgraded "from" ?

Re: problems with getting to the admin page

Ok first let me state - I just realized this thread was for "installing on a windows server" My server is a linux/unix

DrByte:

How exactly did you apply the upgrade patch?
and ... did fantastico install 1.3.0.1 for you ? do you know what version you upgraded "from" ?

I started by installing from fantasico yes it installed 1.3.0.1 when i logged into the admin center I saw the bugfix notice so i figured better go ahead and update now before i started with any modifying I went and downloaded the "changed files only " zip from sourceforge I uploaded all the files to their respective folders and then ran the sql patch to update the DB afterwards I changed the chmod back to 444 (and 644) and couldn't get into the admin center no matter what I try or do I still get the forbidden file (i have have someone else try as well from a completely different computer and ip address and same error) Then i read on the forum about just replacing the admin folder from the "full release" which I have done and still nothing I have tried changing the config files to false and true for the SSL and still nada

DrByte:

Also, in your hosting control panel, locate the place to look at the server's error logs, and then post the last 50 lines of it here...

These are just from today

Let's delete the /admin/.htaccess file altogether for a test.

By the way, there doesn't appear to be anything in the 1.3.0.2 patch that would be causing any problems accessing the admin area. However, that doesn't negate the fact that you're experiencing a problem.

After deleting the admin/.htaccess file, try accessing the admin area again. If it fails, please post the recent entries from errorlog again ... maybe the message will have changed... <here's hoping>

(moving this thread to the linux area)

Since I haven't done any product adding or customizing yet maybe I should just take out everything delete the mysql database and start over from scratch this time only doing it myself from the full release rather then use fantastico and the patches? one thing I noticed though when i downloaded the file from sourceforge there was no config file in the admin/includes (hoping i don't go confusing you ..lol) it is there now b/c it was there when i had originally installed it was just an observation that if I go and try to reinstall the cart am I going to be missing files or is that a file that creates itself?

I will wait to hear back from you before i remove everything.

Thxs,
Noneya

Re: problems with getting to the admin page

  1. I'm not sure what it's meaning when it talks about this in the errorlog:> .htaccess pcfg_openfile

Is there a file by that name somewhere? I'm guessing it's part of an error message and not an actual filename ... but I don't recall seeing it before, so am not certain.

  1. If you wish to reinstall from scratch, that's fine.
The configure.php files have to be created by you, and the installation instructions talk about how to do that.... but you don't have to edit them... simply create them (even from the samples provided), and mark them as read/write, etc.

No there's no file by that name other then the htaccess itself

I'm going to attempt the reinstall never had to create the config file before..lol.. (that I know of anyways all the carts I've done were older older versions and the config files where there already..lol..)

Wish me luck

Re: problems with getting to the admin page

Unfortunately I have 1.2.7 will the following suggested fix work with that file also???

Or should I install as stated in the directions, write over everything and then just load up the two tables or is it three -- the products, products description and categories. Would that be workable??? The go in an manually set up the admin configuration??? Will that give and error????

Thanks
