I have read and made all the changes to remove this all together but it seems the header.php won't remove this "Sales Message Goes Here" am i doing something wrong?

Go to includes/languages/english/header.php

find HEADER_SALES_TEXT and edit.

Be sure that you are using the template override and save the file in MY_TEMPLATE
