Re: Closed for vacation?

The only thing i can think to do would be to use your down for maintenance setting and instead of maintenance modify it to say for vacation.

youd have to figure out the # of hours to set it correctly, from what i can tell (which isnt much, lol) but other than that i dont know of any other way than to throw up a vacation page and take your zen cart offline.

Alternatively, you could set your store to showcase mode via Admin > My Store > Store Status and choose 1 or 2 depending upon whether visitors should be able to see your store with proces or not, either way they will be unable to buy.

This way hopefully won't discourage the spiders too much, whereas a closed for maintenance for 3 weeks will kill them off.

Re: Closed for vacation?

Another option is to keep your store open as usual, but add a message to the shop and to confirmation e-mails about delayed shipping (depending on how long you'll be gone). Something like "Shop X is on vacation until X/Y/2006. You are welcome to browse the store and even place an order, but shipping will be delayed until A/B/2006."

I'm sure it can be worded better, but that's the idea :).
