Fresh install layout blowout

Hi, I'm having dramas with a fresh install of 1.3.0.2.

When i install the layout blows right out off the right side of the screen.
There were further issues with my custom templates layout, so i deleted everything and started fresh.

can anyone think what might cause this.

note: this server is running under CGI, not much i could do about that :-(

ahhhh, on further inspection, it appears that it displays ok in firefox (mac). and the blowout is in Safari (mac) which makes me think it is a CSS based problem in this install.

the previous version of Zen cart I was installing (1.2.7 i think) displayed fine in safari.

anyone got anything for me on this one?

It's the way your the browser is handling the code for the "categories tabs" section of the template (the horizontal listing of categories under the Zen Cart logo).

To disable that, go to Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings->Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF, and turn them off.
