Since up grading to the Zen Cart 1.3.0.2 - the attributes controller has stopped working. If a customer doesn't select one of the attributes - the system is just continuing to put it in the basket but doesn't allow the customer to go to the stage 3 of 3 checkout. Previously a warning message was displayed and wouldn't allow the customer to add it to the basket until an attribute was selected.

we have now we have had about 10 to 15 sales like this and we can not find out what is happing.

can anyone help?????

NOTE: Checkboxes are not the best choice if only one is allowed ...

On your Attributes, you can select a default to ensure that there is a choice ...

Are you using Checkboxes because they are allowed multiple choices or because you are not familiar with them ...

Unless the customer is to make multiple choices, use either the Dropdown or Radio Buttons ...

On the choices, if you want to be sure that the customer makes a proper choice ... as in chooses X-Large and does not choose Small by accident ... make an additional choice such as:

Select a size ...

Make this a Default, Display Only, Sort Order 0

Now, they will not be allowed to add to cart until they pick one of the other choices ...

We have changed to radio boxes but you can still place in the cart whether or not you select an attribute.

This used to work before the last patch.

Is there any way we can prevent people putting in the cart without having first made a choice ?

You are missing settings ...

Attributes can have a default ... this means that it is selected ...

You need to mark one of your Attributes as the default (selected) so that there is always a choice added ...

To make sure the right choice is added, consider the Default ... Display Only ... Option Value I suggested that you make ...
