1016 Can't open file: 'zen_products.MYI'. (errno: 145)

I got an error message today just after I edited a product.

1030 Got error 22 from table handler
in:

I went back to page to double-check product information, everything seemed fine. I think my MYSQL has crashed for some reasons.

When I checked home page on my localhost. Got error message which stated :

1016 Can't open file: 'zen_products.MYI'. (errno: 145)
in:
[select distinct m.manufacturers_id as id, m.manufacturers_name as name from zen_products p, zen_products_to_categories p2c, zen_manufacturers m where p.products_status = 1 and p.manufacturers_id = m.manufacturers_id and p.products_id = p2c.products_id and p2c.categories_id = '0' order by m.manufacturers_name]

I've searched similar errors in other forums but it didn't help me

I tried to fix the problem by use PHPMyAdmin.
Scrolled down to open zen_products. I got error message,
"#1016 - Can't open file: 'zen_products.MYI'. (errno: 145)" So I can't repair the table because clicking "Operations" returned same error. PHPMyAdmin removed the link from "Empty" function, so I couldn't run it either.

If I logged in admin, got error message:
1016 Can't open file: 'zen_products.MYI'. (errno: 145)
in:
[select count(*) as count from zen_products where products_status = '1']

I've created backup but I added alot of products today and hope to revive them! What shall I do?

Finally I've solved the problem, if you couldn't use PHPMyAdmin to repair the table then use shell command to launch mysql prompt instead.

Instructions for anyone who might have similiar problems in the future.

1. mysql -u <your username> -p<your password>
2. use zencart;
3. check table zen_products; (or any other affected tables)
4. repair table zen_products;

I've logged in admin to check if everything was ok. only problem was mysql prompt's repair function has removed a product (affected row) from zen_products.

That is a rather unusual error to get on the products table ...

Usually this can happen when the MySQL server crashes, but it will normally occure to the more volitle tables such as sessions or whos_online and a Repair usually will take care of the problem ...

Check with your hosting site to see if they know what might have happened ... keep good backups ... and make sure this is a once in a blue moon occurance ...
