Moved to new domain, large popup window no longer works

Hi everyone,
I have had to move one of my sites to a new domain name, everything seems ok except when a product is displayed, the click to enlarge image, and the thumbnail of the image itself is not there. What I would like to know is, which pages or settings are likely to be causing this? To me it would appear to be a javascript issue, just not sure where to look to fix it, thanks.

Your normal image are clearly there because they display as thumbnails on the home page. Although not an expert in this area, I believe that when you go to a product page, Zen Cart looks for a medium image and of course a large one to go with the lage image link. If they're not there, I believe that Zen Cart should show the normal image instead.

In this case nothing is showing, suggesting that Zen Cart believes that there are medium and large images, but just can't find them.

Do you have medium and large images, and if so, did they get copied across?

Alternatively did you use an add-in such as Image Handler to create the images on the original site. If so, did you copy it's cache across from the old site?

thanks for the response, and as you say yes the images are there, just not working. Yes I do have Image Handler installed, and I did copy the cache across with it. I guess it might be worth uninstalling and re-installing IH maybe?

Before uninstalling and reinstalling (which I would guess would require you to reload your images to get them set up correctly), I would checkout the Image Handler support thread.

There's lots of stuff in there, some of which may well be relevant. You can search within a thread (from an option towards the bottom of the page) and even if you don't find anything revelant, Tim, who wrote Image Handler, provides good support for it.

I have a pretty good idea what is going wrong now, just not sure how to fix it - well I know one way of fixing it and that means uploading 3 different sizes of files for IH to use, ie _SML _MED _LRG or whatever the extension names are. I didn't have to do this previously though.

Here is what is currently in the path of the popwindows

img src="images/large/product_images/xbm_64_LRG.jpg"

However there is no structure like that on my server instead the actual path to the above image would be ```
img src="images/product_images/xbm_64.jpg"

notice no _LRG extension on the end of  the filename (I understand that IH does this dynamically?) .  One thing I know for sure, is I did not upload 3 sets of images and folders containing them on my previous incarnation of this site to make IH work.  I wonder if the new MYsql database has some say in this?

So if I can somehow change the popwindows and whatever other jscript manipulates the imagery to show the correct path then all should work.  THis is where i need help/suggestions :)

You're most of the way there Paul. If you upload files manually, in the default setup you would upload:
images/product_images/xbm_64.jpg
images/product_images/medium/xbm_64_MED.jpg
images/product_images/large/xbm_64_LRG.jpg

The beauty of Image Handler is that it takes the first image and creates the other two for you, and caches them ready for use.

It wouldn't make sense therefore to re-create the other images sizes manually and I'm not sure how Image Handler would respond if you did. I pointed you to the Image Handler Support Thread because this feels to me like a problem with how your images are now being referenced in the IH Cache. But also because you can't be the first Image Handler user to have moved a site. Either way, I'd recommend against doing something too hasty, unless you are sure that you can unpick it again, or are willing to re-upload all your images.

Kuroi thanks, by they way I did search through that thread you recommended but found nothing relating to moving servers/domains and the implications thereof.

I will sit tight without making drastic changes ... if I can resist!

OK fixed it, it would appear that I had manage to confuse two versions of IH, notably IH v2 RC 1 and IH v2 !! The solution, by overwriting the IH folders with the files within the release v2.0 of IH my problems are now gone.
