can the coupons become a "points" system?

Hi,
I'd like my customers to earn points when they purchase stuff, which they could deduct from their next purchase. Is this possible?

At this time, Zen Cart has Gift Certificates and Discount Coupons ...

There isn't anything built in for points but it could be designed ... but would take quite a bit of work to control and manage it properly ...

Yes I imagine. So would it be possible to send automatically a discount coupon to those who purchase something?
Ah, another question: Can someone use 2 coupons one the same purchase? (are they cumulative?)
